President of India’s message on the eve of National Day of Malaysia
The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the of Malaysia on the eve of their National Day (August 31, 2015).
In his message to His Majesty Almu’tasimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, the President has said, “On behalf of Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, I extend warm greetings and felicitations to you and to the people of Malaysia on the occasion of your National Day.
The bilateral relations between India and Malaysia are marked by our traditional friendship and cooperation in a number of areas of common interest. Our ties have strengthened substantively as we share the desire to deepen and broaden our multifaceted relationship to our mutual benefit. While we have broken new grounds in our economic relations, vast untapped potential still exists in areas like defence and security, health and education and people-to-people contacts.
We look forward to strengthening our relations with Malaysia and working with you to advance regional cooperation.”
