Details : Group Captain Rana Sanjeev Mehndiratta (17394) Administration is on the posted strength of Air Force Station Bagdogra as Chief Administrative Officer (C Adm 0) wef 27 Apr 09 and has maintained the highest personal standards of professionalism and conduct. He was adjudged the best all round officer in Fighter Controllers Course and participated in Operation Brasstacks in 1987 as a Fighter Controller. He was adjudged the best all round officer in Advanced Navigation course and had maintained Cat 'A' on An-32 and Avro aircraft. He is also a Qualified Navigation Instructor. He was selected for SU-30 aircraft and had undergone the MCF for SU-30 aircraft. He is an experienced Interviewing Officer at Air Force Selection Board. A keen sportsman, he had participated in the Air Force team Kayaking expedition in 1987 as an active participant. He has been the IAF member (Internal Security) at National Security Council Secretariat during his stint at Air HQ. As C Adm 0, he embarked upon providing the best administrative leadership with his varied experience in Indian Air Force. He has enhanced the quality of life of the air warriors at the Station with the concept of door to door maintenance, ensuring high quality of work services, providing amenities and recreation facilities to the air warriors, thus bringing a visible change in the quality of life, besides ensuring very high morale of the personnel of the Station. The Station was entrusted with the responsibility of conducting of President's Standard Presentation to 44 Sqn and 110 HU at a very short notice. The planning was made more challenging due to the fact that both the units receiving standards were out Station units and the task also involved planning and timely execution of about fifty work services. An event of this magnitude and national importance calls for flawless planning, efficient execution and ability to motivate the officers and men to work as a team to achieve the goal All of this was achieved due to the relentless efforts and flawless coordination displayed by the officer. The event was conducted in a befitting manner and was appreciated by all the dignitaries. The efforts put in by him as C Adm 0 of the Station has been appreciated by various visiting dignitaries. He has been instrumental in maintaining a very high morale of his team of officers and men to ensure exceptional quality of work in the most congenial atmosphere. He goes beyond the call of his duty to ensure synergy at all levels at the Station to achieve the organizational goals. For distinguished service of high order and devotion to duty, Hon'ble President is pleased to award 'Vishisht Seva Medal' to Group Captain Rana Sanjeev Mehndiratta.
