A flying start
Album I : No.4 Sqn Album II : The Aircraft

When No.4 Squadron was operating from Miho in Japan, it had on strength eighteen Spitfire XIVs and a single Harvard. The book "Spitfire International" provides the following serials for the Spitfires. All these aircraft were Struck-Off Charge in March 1948:

SM916 SM923 SM924
SM925 RN219 TX975
TX977 TX979 TX986
TZ145 TZ165 MV250
NH746 NH803 NH809
NH871 NH879 NH931

Aircraft in Red were lost in the accident of JA Martin and Sekhon. The lone Harvard with the Squadron was KF129

When the personnel of No.4 Squadron returned to India, all the remaining Spitfires were left behind - possibly taken over by an Australian Unit which was part of the BCOF.
